Brian Cockman asked me to write a post about reading for the Achieve Guilford blog. Achieve Guilford is a community-based initiative in Guilford County that helps kids succeed in school. Because I’m a public school kid who understands the vital importance of literary — to say nothing of loving to read — I embraced the idea.
