Creative spam

Melanie Sill, with whom I’ve been exchanging blog posts about the future of journalism, posted a piece yesterday about some of the response she got to her most recent piece. It’s pretty funny.

I, too, get a lot of spam, all caught in the spam filter. But none is outlandish as that. Most of my spam tells me what a great site I have or what a wonderful post I’ve written — thank you — and, by the way, here is a link to a great site on sexdating, or plantar fasciitis, or investing, or web hosting.

Really, spammers, you need to get more creative. But I do have to hand it to the one Melanie refers to. The headline they translated — “Newspapers: Looking behind to pierce forward” — has more pep than the one I wrote.
